Symphony Columbus?

Symphony Columbus is a grass roots movement working to insure that Columbus retains and maintains its high quality, symphony orchestra.  Our short term objective is to help organize concert venues where the musicians can perform and earn money during this time when they are receiving no compensation.  We welcome your involvement in this most important quest, and invite you to volunteer by emailing symphonycolumbus@gmail.com.

Maestro Junichi Hirokami

Columbus, Ohio has developed a wonderful and valuable asset in the orchestra known until recently as the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.

The members of that orchestra are a critical part of the cultural fabric which defines this city.  Their presence here must be preserved, and this site is dedicated to that effort.

The orchestra is under financial pressure to close, because of what some call poor fiscal management, fund raising and recruiting of key managers by the present board.  Others criticize the lack of community support.  Regardless of where we have been, it is time to move ahead.

Cities across the country have faced similar problems until they realized the critical importance of a great symphony orchestra in the culture of the community, rolled up their sleeves and went to work.  Successes abound!

This site has been developed to provide a place for the community to get information on the activities of the symphony and the efforts to raise funds for its preservation.  We also hope to spark the conscience of individuals, organizations, corporations and civic leaders to encourage them to act before it is too late.

Click on any of the menu buttons at the top of the page to find out where you can hear the music of this group.  To learn more about how you and/or your organization can be a part of this critically important effort, email symphonycolumbus@gmail.com.
